Dearly Beloved RVM Sisters and Academic Community of St. Mary’s College, Meycauayan,

Praised be Jesus and Mary!  Greetings of hope on this Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary and Patron of the Universal Church!

I was designated by S. Maria Marissa Viri, RVM, Chair of the Education Ministry Commission to announce with sadness the demise of S. Maria Yolanda Reyes, RVM.  She passed away this morning at 5:42 A.M at The Medical City, Ortigas Avenue, Metro Manila. She succumbed to pneumonia, an illness she battled with almost every year.  Please offer prayers for the repose of her soul.

Sister Yolly as we all know is a very passionate educator putting her heart and soul in everything she does.  Let me share with you what Atty. Sabino Jose Padilla III, member of the Board of Trustees of SMCM after I gave him the sad news this morning, “We have a loving intercessor in Sister Yolly.  I am sure she will help us. She was given her eternal reward on the feast of the Saint of all Workers because she truly loved the teachers and staff of St. Mary’s College, Meycauayan.”

We are consoled by the thought that she lived a very full life, totally dedicated to the mission entrusted to her and a faithful consecrated religious.

With prayers and with one heart, let us commend Sister Yolly to the loving embrace of the Father, her creator and enjoy eternal bliss with Mary, our Mother and Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo.

We request the whole school community: the students, faculty and staff, Non-teaching Personnel, parents, alumni, benefactors and friends, let us gather together at 3:00pm and spend a time for prayer by offering the rosary and silence for the soul of S. Ma. Yolanda, Reyes, RVM. God bless us all.

    Respectfully yours,

(Sgd.)  S. Maria Gilda M. Peñafiel, RVM
