• Marketing students attend 10th EdukCircle Convention on Business

    Third year and fourth year BSBA major in marketing students participated in the 10th EdukCircle Convention on Business held on September 23, 2017 at the AFP Theatre Camp Aguinaldo Quezon City.

    The EdukCircle -International Center for Communication Studies (ICCS) is an institution that provides a venue for the advancement and essential evaluation of communication practices in different academic fields. Its programs are endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education and are supported by hundreds of universities all over the Philippines.

       


     

    Through various seminars, conventions and scholarly training, the EdukCircle promotes extensive educators and students’ interests in communication and allied fields. It provides academic research on national and international perspectives and promotes friendly collaborations among universities in the Philippines and all over the world. It held various international conventions in the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Japan.

    This year marked its tenth international convention on business with a full programme which included four paper presentations, five distinguished international speakers including Dr. Dave Centeno,  Associate Professor of the Cesar Virata School of Business UP Diliman, who gave the Keynote Talk on Celebrity Human Brands and Co-creation in Marketing;   Ms Rica King, founder and Chief Executive Officer of CoColine Natural, her talk was entitled Battle Against Giants; Mr. Phil Smithson , Director and Design Thinking Consultant, On-Off Group, his talk was on Human Centered Design; Mr. Riccardo Corsini, Vice President of Marketing, KMC Solutions, Inc. and lastly Mr. Leslie Choudhury, Chief Executive Officer, Leslie Chouhury International, who gave a very inspiring motivational talk entitled The keys to Business Success.

    The day was capped by the 7th EdukCircle Awards. The EdukCircle Awards was founded by Dir. Alexander M. Baltazar, chairman of the EdukCircle International Center for Communication Studies (ICCS). It started in August 2011 which aimed at recognizing personalities for their outstanding contribution to Philippine television. Our very own Ms. Aida N. Maula, Accountancy and Business Administration Program adviser,who was one of the jury members was tasked to announce two of the winners. One of our marketing students, Ms. Jessamine Ortega also showcased her talent by singing during the open-mic intermission.

    It was a fruitful day for the students as they take home new knowledge and experience in the field of business and marketing.
